As an instructional designer, I prioritize creating engaging and high-quality learning experiences that are both inclusive and accessible. I believe in the power of creativity and multimedia to make learning dynamic and enjoyable. My focus is always on the learner experience, ensuring that content is relevant, motivating, and easy to navigate. I believe that high quality and engaging learning experiences can empower every learner to succeed.
I have experience creating both instructor-led and self-directed learning experiences, but my passion lies primarily with self-directed eLearnings. I utilize strategies such as gamification, simulation-based learning, and university models to create learning experiences that are unique, innovative, and effective.
My design process is guided by the ADDIE model, but I approach it with flexibility to fit each project’s unique needs.
I begin by understanding the client’s needs and goals, and crafting learning objectives that meet those. From there, I choose the best delivery method—whether it’s eLearning, instructor-led training, animation, or microlearning—to ensure the content truly connects with learners while meeting the project needs.
I utilize multimedia elements that focus on engaging design that holds attention and enhances understanding. Throughout the design and development process, I check in regularly to gather feedback, ensuring the project stays aligned with the client’s vision. I collect client feedback on regular schedules using tools such as Articulate Review, and set up calls to gather more in depth feedback when needed. The result is a learning experience that’s high quality, engaging, and effective.
Project management is an essential part of my process and, in turn, delivering a successful project. I utilize detailed spreadsheets and trackers while conducting projects that help me stay organized and on time, and help ensure my clients are always up to date. When necessary, I utilize methods such as standing check in meetings, weekly project update emails, and project trackers to ensure clear communication.
When designing learning experiences, there is no one size fits all tool. I utilize a range of authoring programs to create unique and engaging multimedia learning experiences.
eLearning Authoring: Articulate 360 Suite (Storyline, Rise, Review); Adobe Captivate
Slide decks: Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides
Graphics: Adobe Photoshop
Video & Animation: Camtasia 2024, Vyond, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects
Voiceover Recording: Adobe Audition
Due to copyrights, most of my work cannot be showcased in it's final form in my portfolio. Below, find some high level videos and slideshows that discuss projects I have worked on, including my process, and reproduced examples of the final product.
For this project, the client was an organization that wanted to re-design their introductory Health Equity eLearning to better represent the company's health equity strategy and mission.
Prior to my involvement, the course was a basic click and read eLearning with minimal interaction, storytelling, and visual aids.
I collaborated with 15+ subject matter experts as well as executives to redesign this eLearning into a highly interactive, compelling, and visually attractive module.

For this project, the client was an organization that wanted to re-design their assessment process to test inter-rater reliability among their patient-facing staff.
Prior to my involvement, the assessment was designed as a text-based case study, accompanied by multiple choice questions.
I redesigned this assessment as a gamified simulated case study. Learners would explore a patient interaction with an animated character, and use an integrated notebook feature to take notes on the interaction. They would then use this information to answer multiple choice assessment questions.

For this project, the client was looking for a self-paced training program to compliment their foundational health equity eLearning.
I designed a university-model program that contained over 20 eLearnings on a variety of health equity topics. Learners moved through four levels, attaining badges that displayed their level of mastery, finishing by obtaining the Champion badge.

For this project, the client was looking for a self-paced training program that would bridge the gap between staff going through new hire training, and shadowing another staff member in the field.
I designed a self-paced eLearning program with three tracks for different staff roles, and 5 modules for each track. I collaborated with over 10 subject matter experts to build gamified virtual case studies and process practice.

For this project, the client was a University who needed an engaging eLearning for incoming graduate students to learn about sexual violence, healthy relationships, and mental health.
I decided to design this eLearning as an interactive magazine, that taught the content as stories, articles, and advice columns. I choose a visual style that is fresh and stylized, while still being effective and easy to read. This format is engaging, and appeals to the target audience.
